Curriculum
Our learning experiences are of the highest quality and they are planned considering the children’s needs, stage of development and their interests. This ensures that the children have the very best start to their education.
There are seven areas of learning and development and all areas are important and inter-connected.
There are three prime areas which are:
-
Communication and Language Development
-
Physical Development
-
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
There are four specific areas through which the three prime areas are strengthened and applied. These specific areas are:
-
Literacy Development
-
Mathematics
-
Understanding the World
-
Expressive Arts and Design
At the nursery, the children learn skills, acquire new knowledge and demonstrate their understanding through the seven areas of learning, in both the indoor and outdoor environment.
Learning Journey
All children will have their very own ‘Learning Journey’, which will include photographs and observations of the learning and activities they have completed, as well as examples of their work.
These are available for both the children and parent(s) to view at anytime and we welcome contributions from home too.
When a child leaves the nursery to begin school, parent(s) will be given their child's 'Learning Journey' as a memorable keepsake. We also encourage these to be shared with your child's Reception Teacher, so they can also see all the wonderful learning your child has already completed.
